There are many ways to get the job done. Here's how I do it and some general pricing guidlines.
For those unfamiliar with the process, video production can be intimidating. Having an understanding of the steps I use can give you a better overall view of the process and help things stay on track during the course of your project.
Pre-production is the key to efficient video production. During pre-production meetings, we will determine your target audience and decide on the conceptual approach that will best communicate to them. Once the concept has been established, scripting and storyboarding break that down into shots and sequences. At that point, decisions can be made including schedules, crew, talent, locations, and more.
Do you have a fully-formed idea of what your video should contain? Or, do you want help in determining how to best communicate your message? Some clients prefer to handle all of the concept and scripting work themselves, while others prefer to have that work done for them. Most often, a team effort between client and producer yields the strongest results. I'm happy to play as large or small a role in the creative process as you like.
Production includes your actual shoot day(s) which can be as basic as a single camera interview or can involve multiple cameras, audio engineers, and crew members at a range of locations. If your production requires professional talent, hair and/or makeup artists, or additional crew, they have been booked and are ready to go to work. As footage is recorded, ideas are tried and sometimes tweaked and tried again.
Getting on set or on location almost always presents challenges. I pride myself on keeping a positive attitude and seeking elegant solutions when those situations arise. Production has an end goal, but it's important to remember that it's a process. Flexibility can make the difference between merely getting what you need, and creating something exceptional.
Post-production is where everything comes together. Individual clips are edited into sequences and the graphics, animations, titles, and music are added. In most cases, an initial edit is created which is delivered via a private online link for you to review and share. Revisions are made based on feedback received, and the process continues until we get an approved edit. Once complete, final color grading is applied and delivery formats are confirmed.
A Full Day is comprised of two 4-hour work sessions with a one hour break and includes setup and breakdown time.

ContactHalf Day is comprised of one consecutive 4-hour work session and includes setup and breakdown time.

Every project is unique. Full and Half Day rates cover actual shooting of footage. Pre-production meetings, location scouting, additional crew and/or professional on-camera talent, and having multiple shooting locations all factor in to overall cost. I like to work efficiently and always remain conscious of budgets. Contact me directly and share the details of your project for more specific pricing.
Estimates are provided which include the full-scope of your production. Editing estimates typically cover the initial edit but do not include revisions, which are billed by the quarter hour with a quarter hour minimum. Pre-production meetings and shoot days are scheduled when a 25% deposit is made. An additional 25% payment is due upon completion of shooting with all balances due upon approval of final edits, but prior to delivery of final project files.
I have a wide range of industry professionals, from audio engineers to lighting and grip specialists, that I work with on a project basis. Multi-day shoots may be subject to a percentage rate reduction based on crew needs and availability. Some crew members work at an hourly rate, but many work exclusively on full or half day pricing.
Yes, I have relationships with a number of individuals and agencies in the southeast that can provide top-notch professional talent for your video production.
